The Virginia State Colony for Epileptics and Feebleminded by Molly McCully Brown is a series of poems devoted to telling the fictional tales of residents of a government-run hospital in Virginia throughout the 1900s. The poet herself notes that if she had been born in an earlier time period, she might have lived at the hospital, as she, too, suffers in a way that many of the residents did.
