Memories of the Future by Margaret Gibson is a collection of poems following a set of daybooks the poet imagines Tina Modotti to have kept towards the end of her life. The book includes a timeline of Modotti’s life, as well as notes at the end of the book on the poems themselves. Gibson creates a persona for a woman long dead by the time the book is written, and keeps her memory alive through imagery.
