Look by Solmaz Sharif
This book re-languages terms found in the US Department of Defence's Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms (circa 2007); these terms are woven through the poems of the book. The poems are free verse and include forms such as lists, letters, prose block, fragments, sequences, and range across the page. This is a personal and political look at the effects of war, loss, the asymmetry of experience, and the distortion of language around it.
Notes at the end lay out the intention of the book.
