Blue Front by Martha Collins recalls the incident of the lynching a black man and a white man in Cairo, Illinois. She uses information given to her by her father, who lived in the city, as well as various newspapers, museum exhibits, and the Cairo Public Library.
Quotes are in quotation marks, yet italics are used for emphasis in other lines. The poems take different formats, as well, as spacing is strategically used.
