Investigative Poetry by Ed Sanders
This manifesto urges the reader to delve deeper than what is possible in a 24 hr news cycle. Written in the 70’s when investigation was bringing revelation and there was a hopeful air in the counterculture this book digs into the history of the western cannon, explores poetic techniques (relying heavily on Charles Olson), considers the page, and performance. This book is a compilation of notes and sources which are bent into the above themes. This is a how to poetic resistance guide through a specific poetic cannon.
There is a list of books at the end called “Clue List” the author is asking the reader to ‘read in’ to the conversation. There are several formal and informal introductions, comments and thoughts before the main text.
