Guide to Greece by
George Kalogeris is a collection a poetry that pay homage to Kalogeris’ Greek
heritage and roots through his poems that reflect his day-to-day life and
memories.
In paying homage to his roots, Kalogeris opens the book with
a poem about his father in “Basil.” In this poem, he sets a tone for the style
of the collection by referencing important people and moments in his life, artifacts
and symbols that harken to Greek culture, and beautiful imagery that blends all
of those things together.
The poems are written iambic pentameter and there are many
references to his local surroundings in the Boston area.
