Plume by Kathleen Flenniken uses historical evidence to illustrate the damage nuclear energy did to the area surrounding the test site. Written twenty years after her friend Carolyn’s father died, the book uses both governmental sources and personal sources. The book has a notes section explaining and crediting research. Flenniken writes about the environmental effects nuclear energy has as well as the effects it has on human beings.
