Station Zed by Tom Sleigh

Station Zed by Tom Sleigh is a collection of poems which were the result of Sleigh’s journalistic research and travel in Libya, Iraq and Lebanon. The book is not poetry alone — the longer piece, “Homage to Basho” is a series of poems paired with Sleigh’s personal reports from his travel and research. The poems and prose allow us to see how research is personal — and how war and settings of war, while large in scale to those not present, remain hugely personal to the bodies that occupy that space. Notes at the back of the book, mostly explaining phrases or terminology used in the poems.
